For wrestling fans, it's the biggest event in their calendar.

Since 1985 it has dazzled and entertained millions of fans as the biggest stars battle in the ring, it's WrestleMania.

Now a two-night spectacular, the biggest matches and most heated feuds are settle at the biggest show in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE's) roster.

But before the 38th edition, spread over two nights this weekend, let's take a trip down WrestleMania (WM) memory lane.

How did WrestleMania start?

The first event was held on March 31, 1985 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The main event was a tag-team match between the WWF champion Hulk Hogan and the A-Team's Mr. T. They popular duo faced the team of Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff.

It proved such a hit for the then named WWF that it became the group's biggest show of each year since.

Madison Square Garden was also the sight of Wrestlemania 10 and 20.

What are some of WrestleMania's biggest matches and moments?

Probably too many to mention.

Some of the most famous are Hulk Hogan slamming Andre The Giant at WM 3 in 1987, Razor Ramon beating Shawn Michaels in an epic ladder match at WM in 1994.

The champion v champion match between the WWF's then most popular two stars, Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior from 1990 also stands out as a spectacle.

The bloody battle from 1997 between Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin is revered by fans.

Who could forget the match between WWF/E chairman Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan in 2003?

The streak

The Undertaker, who will be inducted into this year's WWE Hall of Fame, is arguably the biggest star in WrestleMania history.

He beat 'Superfly' Jimmy Snuka in his first WM match in 1991 and beat AJ Styles in his last outing, at WM36, in 2020.

His undefeated streak at the biggest show lasted for 18 straight years until he came unstuck against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30.

The 'Deadman's' overall WrestleMania record reads a formidable 21 wins and one loss.

The celebrities who have appeared at WrestleMania

Some of the biggest names from sport and entertainment and even a US President have appeared at WrestleMania over the years.

These include Baywatch actor Pamela Anderson, who accompanied Shawn Michaels to the ring at the 1995 show.

Muhammad Ali acted as a special guest referee at the first show in 1985.

Former boxing champion 'Iron' Mike Tyson acted as a special enforcer in the WWF title match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Michaels at WM 13 in 1998 with Michaels receiving a knockout blow from Tyson after the match.

Donald Trump has also had a link to the show over the years' His venue, Trump Plaza, held Wrestlemania 4 and 5.

But he also came under the threat of losing his famous hair when he took part in the battle of the billionaires at the 25th edition of 'Mania.

President Trump was spared a free haircut as the wrestler representing him, Bobby Lashley, beat Mr McMahon's chosen wrestlert Umaga.
