THE SOUTHERN League has confirmed the fixture list for the 2022-23 campaign.
Hampshire and New Forest based clubs across Southern League Division One South found out their opening day opponents, with Bashley, making their return to the Southern League after six years, will host Bristol Manor Farm, whilst their New Forest rivals, Lymington Town visit Paulton Rovers on the first day of the season, prior to the two sides meeting at the Sports Ground just three days later, on Tuesday, August 16.
Ambitious AFC Totton start at home to Bishops Cleeve whilst Sholing are away to Slimbridge. Totton then make the short trip to Dorset to face newly promoted Hamworthy United, whilst Sholing host Melksham Town.
The first Bank Holiday fixtures in the Southern League’s second tier sees Bashley host their fellow promoted side from the Wessex Premier, Hamworthy United on Monday, August 29, whilst Wimborne will host Lymington Town in the first meeting between the two sides in the eighth-tier.
Totton and Sholing face each other at the Snows Stadium in a Southampton derby.
On Boxing Day, Bashley host Sholing, whilst Lymington Town visit AFC Totton.
The next Bank Holiday, Monday, January 2, sees the return of the first Bank Holiday games, with Hamworthy at home to Bashley, whilst Lymington will entertain Wimborne Town.
Sholing will then welcome their close neighbours Totton to the Universal Stadium.
Whilst there are no Good Friday fixtures, there are Easter Monday games. In a reversal of the Boxing Day fixtures, Bashley visit Sholing, whilst Lymington have home advantage against AFC Totton.
On the final game of the season, Bashley travel to Paulton Rovers, whilst Lymington entertain Slimbridge at the Sports Ground. AFC Totton, who will hope to be in and amongst it next term, travel to the Midlands to face Eversham United, whilst Sholing have a jaunt to Exmouth Town in Devon.
