EASTLEIGH have confirmed the signing of experienced midfielder Nigel Atangana on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old Frenchman had trialled with the Spitfires over the course of pre-season, following his departure at the end of his contract from Exeter City.
Boss Lee Bradbury has worked with the former Portsmouth man before, at Atangana’s first club in England, Havant & Waterlooville.
Prior to arriving in England, Atangana had played in his native France and in neighbouring Spain.
In total, Atangana has made over 200 appearances in League Two, winning promotion with the Grecians last term.
The Daily Echo understands that there was a delay with the paperwork in regards to making the move official, with Atangana playing as a trialist throughout pre-season.
Reflecting on his time at the club so far, Atangana told Eastleigh’s website: “It’s been good so far. It’s been tough and it’s been hard work with the team.
“I think we have a good squad and a good team and I’m really pleased to be here today.
Atangana is well aware what he brings to the team, stating: “Experience. It’s a young team so hopefully, I can help the young lads to be a better level and just add something more to the squad.”
