SAINTS have been assigned ball number 18 for the EFL Cup second round draw, which takes place tonight.
The St Mary’s side enter the cup alongside all other Premier League clubs except those who have qualified for European competition.
The draw for the second round will take place following the conclusion of Sheffield Wednesday vs Sunderland, in the televised first round clash, kicking off at 7:45PM.
The draw is still regionalised at this stage, with bitter rivals Portsmouth assigned ball number 17 after their 3-0 win at Championship outfit Cardiff City last night.
AFC Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Fulham represent potential Premier League opposition for Saints.
Saints defeated Newport County and Sheffield United before defeat to Chelsea in the cup last season. You can watch the draw live on Sky Sports Football.
