SAINTS will host League One Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup third round.
The St Mary’s side have been handed a home tie after they beat Cambridge United at Abbey Stadium 3-0 to reach the final 32.
The ties are set to take place week commencing Monday, November 7, with Saints visiting Liverpool in the Premier League that weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday beat Rochdale 3-0 in their second round tie, after knocking out Sunderland in the earlier round.
Saints have won the last three meetings between the two clubs without conceding a goal, with a double in the 2010-11 League One season and victory in 2012-13 League Cup.
