KYLE Walker-Peters has insisted all of the young players who arrived from Manchester City are ready to explode in the Premier League this season.

While supporters have already seen Romeo Lavia and Gavin Bazunu regularly from the start already this campaign, the other two remain unknown quantities.

Samuel Edozie made a substitute debut during the 1-0 defeat at Wolves, and impressed with three successful take-ons, but Juan Larios did not get onto the pitch.

A chance for a St Mary’s debut was denied after matchday seven of the Premier League was postponed due to the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, last Thursday.

City boss Pep Guardiola reiterated their stance of maintaining a buy-back clause on all of them, in case they “explode” in England’s top division over the next seasons.

And asked if any of them could do that in the next nine months, Walker-Peters immediately responded: “All of them. All of them.

“They’ve all come here for that reason, in the first training sessions you wouldn’t think they’ve just come from being under-21 players,” he added.

“They’re eager to improve, confident and listen to the advice given to them, which is great. All really, really good boys and all of them will play a big part of the season.

“You have to get used to playing tough games as a young player and I think they’ve done really well. I think they’ve shown resilience playing against top teams, not getting star struck but just getting on with it which is great.

“They’ve got room for improvement, we’ve all got room for improvement, but we’re going on a good path.”

Of the four City lads, none of them had ever played in the Premier League, and only Edozie and Lavia had made cup appearances for Guardiola.

But all are youth internationals for their respective top footballing nations, with Bazunu a 10-cap experienced senior with Republic of Ireland.

Walker-Peters admitted he was also following along on deadline day, as Saints added Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Duje Caleta-Car to make it four reinforcements before the 11PM timer.

“I like to keep up to date with all the transfers, I enjoy reading about what’s going on and stuff,” the 25-year-old England international said.

“I think we’ve made some really good signings, some really good talents who look like they’re eager to make it in the Premier League.

“They’ll get their opportunities and those who have already had their opportunities have taken their chance.

“The team is in good spirits at the moment and I hope we continue to improve.”
