SAINTS have confirmed their registered squad for the Premier League, using 18 of the 25 slots allowed by league rules.
Youth has been a major theme of Saints’ recruitment this summer, and that is exemplified by the fact that seven of Saints’ first-teamers do not need to be registered, as they are under the age of 21.
Tino Livramento, Gavin Bazunu, Romeo Lavia, Samuel Edozie, Juan Larios, Armel Bella-Kotchap, and Sekou Mara are not included in the 25-man squad, explaining Saints’ seven free slots.
Of the 18 players registered, eight are classified by Premier League rules as “home-grown players”.
Olly Lancashire, who has not been named in a first-team matchday squad since his return to Staplewood as a B-team player-coach, has also been registered.
Whilst speculation remains over Theo Walcott’s future at St Mary’s, he has also been included.
Saints:
Goalkeepers: Alex McCarthy*, Willy Caballero
Defenders: Mohamed Salisu, Duje Caleta-Car, Kyle Walker-Peters*, Romain Perraud, Olly Lancashire*, Lyanco
Midfielders: Ainsley Maitland-Niles*, James Ward-Prowse*, Ibrahima Diallo, Moussa Djenepo, Moi Elyounoussi, Joe Aribo, Stuart Armstrong
Strikers: Che Adams, Adam Armstrong
