SAINTS goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu has been selected for the Republic of Ireland’s upcoming Nations League fixtures, with a possible clash with teammates Stuart Armstrong and Che Adams.
20-year-old Bazunu has already made 10 appearances for the Ireland senior side, and has been included once again for the remaining fixtures in the Nations League B Group 1 against Scotland and Armenia.
Bazunu has established himself as number one at St Mary’s since his summer arrival from giants Manchester City, despite most recently playing in League One on loan at Saints’ fierce rivals, Portsmouth.
He is also currently number one for Ireland, despite competition from fellow Premier League youngsters, Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher and AFC Bournemouth’s Mark Travers.
Saints academy graduate Michael Obafemi has also been called up for the clashes with Scotland (Saturday, September 24) and Armenia (Tuesday, September 27).
