ISLE of Wight Islanders star Krzysztof Stojanowski will be out of action for at least a week.
The popular Pole suffered a cracked wrist injury while crashing in his opening Premier Trophy ride at the Somerset Rebels last Friday evening.
Not only did he miss yesterday's Premier Trophy loss at Newport in south Wales, but he is also out of tomorrow's home meeting with Somerset (7.30pm) and possibly the trips to Rye House (April 14) and Reading (April 16).
The Islanders have no option other than to utilise the rider replacement regulations to cover for his absence in those meetings.
Ex-Islander Jason Doyle scored 14 points out of a maximum 15 as Somerset defeated the Islanders 54-39 at Highbridge.
Doyle was only denied a maximum when he lost to visiting captain Jason Bunyan in the final heat.
