The traffic congestion and essential road closures that ensure runners' safety are now becoming too much of a burden to make it practical to use the established Salisbury Road-Calmore Estates circuit, writes MALCOLM PRICE.
However, this year's race - which formed Round 8 of the Hampshire Road Race League - proved to be another demonstration of the local dominance of Winchester AC in every department.
Despite having a large contingent of their elite runners away on warm weather training in Portugal, they continued to prove unstoppable in their quest for the League titles for the fifth consecutive year.
