BROKENHURST Manor Golf Club's Liz Bennett is firmly in contention at the halfway stage of the Australian Ladies' Amateur Championship.
The 25-year-old is tied for third after the first two rounds of the tournament at Glenelg Golf Club, Adelaide.
Bennett, who will represent GB & Ireland in the Curtis Cup next month at St Andrews, is joined on three-under-par by England's Naomi Edwards.
After a level par opening round of 74, Bennett shot three-under on the second day, recording birdies at the second, sixth and eighth holes.
England captain Julie Otto said: "It was a very steady, well thought out round of golf."
Bennett will now look to chase down Australia's Stephanie Na, who leads the tournament at nine-under, after two brilliant rounds.
Meanwhile, Lee-on-the-Solent's Sam Hutsby has made a solid start in the Srixon Australian Men's Amateur Championship.
The 19-year-old shot a level par opening round of 72, leaving him tied for 20th, four behind the lead.
