THE Daily Echo understands that both the Saints' PLC board and the club's football board will have the same personnel once Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde return to power.
Apart from those two men, Andrew Cowen and finance director Dave Jones will sit on both boards.
Lowe will be chairman of the PLC board while Wilde will be chairman of the football board.
The idea is that a smaller board will allow decisions to be made quickly, cut out the leaks and keep costs down with Lowe and Wilde making the major decisions.
It is contrary to Wilde's original manifesto ideas he first set out when removing Lowe from power two years ago.
But he would argue that was based on trying to maintain a Premiership set-up and not a Championship one - hopefully - which is now the reality.
The EGM requisition requests the removal of Leon Crouch, Keith Wiseman, Patrick Trant and Lee Hoos from the PLC board, but the set up would also throw into the question the roles of Saints legend Lawrie McMenemy and Mary Corbett who serve on the football board.
There would appear to be little room for either of them in that capacity, though McMenemy's role extends beyond the boardroom with his work in drumming up business for the hospitality areas at St Mary's.
It remains unclear how McMenemy's work there - he has a contract with regards to his hospitality commitments - would be effected.
