BROKENHURST Manor Golf Club's Liz Bennett had a difficult day in the third round of the Australian Ladies' Amateur Championships today, but is still on target to qualify for the matchplay rounds.
The 25-year-old carded a two-over-par round of 76, leaving her one-under for the tournament, ahead of tomorrow's final day.
Bennett is still in a healthy position on the leaderboard, lying in fourth, although she and the rest of the field have been left behind by Stephanie Na.
The Australian has produced a stunning display at the Glenelg Golf Club in Adelaide, shooting a round of 69 today, to leave her 14-under for the championship and nine shots clear of her nearest challenger.
After tomorrow's round, the top 32 players will qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.
In the Australian Men's Amateur Championship, Lee-on-the Solent's Sam Hutsby followed up his level par opening round with a four-over par 77, leaving him tied for 45th, which was good enough to make the cut
