FORMER Premier League official Dermot Gallagher has been appointed as referee for ITV4's three-game Legends Series, which kicks off at St Mary's on Thursday, May 15.
The England v Scotland clash - The Alan Ball Memorial Cup - kicks off the series and Gallagher, who over a 15-year Premier League career officiated at 378 games, said: "England against Scotland is always a feisty affair.
"But I am hopeful both sets of players will play the game in the spirit of Alan Ball - committed and passionate, yes, but also with integrity, decency and a smile on their faces."
