SAINTS reserve team coach Stewart Henderson took plenty of positives from the 1-1 draw with QPR last night.
Although the Londoners grabbed a late equaliser, which temporarily denied Saints the Central Division title, the hosts deserved a lot more after creating a whole host of chances.
And Henderson was impressed with how his outfit performed as a team and individuals.
"We played very well," he said.
"We created some excellent opportunities, missed several good chances and up until the death I thought when we needed to we defended very, very well.
"A couple of times prior to the goal they had just threatened but we looked solid enough and we dealt with it.
"It is just unfortunate at the death that they got through and took the opportunity they had.
"The performance was typical of the way we play - from the back, through the boys in the middle of the park - Simon Gillett, Lloydy (Lloyd James), Adam Lallana and Nathan (Dyer) has got involved as well.
"It was pretty good with one or two very good individual performances.
"Olly Lancashire did really well at the back with Kyle Davies who hadn't played for a long time, he had a decent game.
"The four boys across the middle - Nathan, Lloyd, Simon and Adam - were very, very good."
