SAINTS have successfully requested for their B team’s trip to Exeter City in the EFL Trophy to be moved due to high volume of international call-ups.
Dave Horseman’s side were due to travel to St James Park next Tuesday, September 27, but will now visit a week later on Tuesday, October 4.
The kick-off time for the second EFL Trophy contest of the season remains 7PM, at the home of the League One outfit.
Exeter’s club statement reads: “Following unexpected international call-ups for the Southampton youngsters, the EFL have accepted their request to move the fixture.”
Across the Saints academy, young stars Dominic Ballard, Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Samuel Amo-Ameyaw, Matt Carson, Nathanial Boot and Joe Andrews have all been called up to their respective sides.
Saints lost 3-1 at Forest Green Rovers last time out in this competition.
