RUPERT LOWE has distanced himself from rumours suggesting he is lining up Glenn Hoddle as the next Saints manager when he makes his own dramatic comeback to the club.
Ex-chairman Lowe is bidding to return to the St Mary's boardroom as PLC chairman.
Along with former power battle rival Michael Wilde, Lowe is expected to return to St Mary's after the end of the season.
Speculation has suggested he will again look to appoint Hoddle as manager.
But Lowe told the Daily Echo: "I don't know where that came from.
"It certainly hasn't come from me.
"It is like all these things in football, people just seem to make things up so I have no comment on that."
