RESERVE team boss Stewart Henderson admits winning the league title would not compare with watching Adam Lallana score his first senior Saints goal.
Lallana has spent much of this season playing under Henderson but after being given his chance by Nigel Pearson he will not be involved when Saints reserves take on Watford at Boreham Wood tomorrow night, needing a win to clinch the Pontins Combination Central title.
Second-placed Saints will leapfrog Charlton Athletic to the title if they beat third-placed Watford at Boreham Wood FC's Meadow Park ground.
A draw would give the title to Charlton on goal difference, but Henderson admits Lallana's heroics against West Brom at The Hawthorns on Monday night provided him with more satisfaction than any second-string silverware could bring.
