Leon Crouch has issued a rallying call ahead of what looks set to be his swansong as Saints chairman.
Crouch, who looks set to be removed at or before an EGM called by former chairmen Michael Wilde and Rupert Lowe for Friday, May 16, is hoping his final game in charge will see Saints avoid relegation.
The chairman has promised that Saints will fight to stay alive and has backed everybody concerned to give their all for the cause.
He said: "We all know how vital this game is to the club, the city and the fans - and everyone is up for it.
"Although our fate is not in our own hands, there are four other teams sweating it out and we firmly believe that at least one of them will slip up.
"We need to make sure we do our job so that we can capitalise if that does happen and I firmly believe a win will be enough.
"We do not want a repeat of the sick feeling when we dropped out of the Premiership and Norwich lost but we failed to take advantage.
"Many people felt we went down without a fight which was horrible and I can assure you that will not happen on Sunday. Nigel Pearson will make absolutely sure of that."
