RALPH Hasenhuttl revealed Adam Armstrong and Juan Larios had minor injury scares rule them out of training this week but they could return Saturday.
The Austrian faces the impossible task of visiting Manchester City in imperious form, and might have to do so with a reduced squad.
Former City starlet Romeo Lavia remains out as he builds up his fitness after suffering a muscle injury at the end of August.
Meanwhile, Tino Livramento is back on grass but still gearing up towards a 2023 return from his ACL injury that required surgery.
On the rest of his squad, Hasenhuttl provided a fresh update ahead of the visit to City with some potentially concerning news.
"We had a few players who have not trained all week," said the Austrian. "We had some issues with Arma (Armstrong) and Juan (Larios) but they should be available for the weekend.
“One or two players are also out with illness but they were back in training today. The group is together like it was last match.”
Larios made his first Premier League start during the eventual 2-1 defeat to Everton last weekend, after appearing as a substitute at Aston Villa.
It could mean a return to the starting XI for Romain Perraud, while Samuel Edozie could be preferred for a first start of his own if Armstrong is carrying a knock.
Hasenhuttl did not specify exactly whom had been suffering with illness during the week, while Kyle Walker-Peters, Joe Aribo and Gavin Bazunu all appeared at a JD sponsorship event on Wednesday night.
