SAINTS are reportedly “unlikely” to recall Nathan Tella, despite his sparkling loan spell at Championship Burnley.
The 23-year-old arrived at Turf Moor on a season-long deal and has since scored six times in 14 games in the second tier.
Former Arsenal man Tella netted again on Saturday as Vincent Kompany’s side came from behind to seal a 4-2 victory at Sunderland.
A report from the Athletic claims Saints inserted a recall option into the deal when loaning out Tella but are unlikely to trigger it as he is “settled and flourishing” in Lancashire.
Tella has made 41 senior appearances for Saints since making his first-team debut against Norwich during Project Restart in June 2020.
