SHOLING extended to six points their lead atop the Southern League Division One South table, with a thumping 4-0 win over title rivals Exmouth Town.
Just three points separated the top two sides in the division ahead of kick-off, but Dave Diaper's men laid down a statement victory at the Imperial Homes Stadium.
Goals from Wayne Robinson and Daniel Mason put the hosts 2-0 up by half-time.
And further strikes from Brad Targett and Jake Cope secured the resounding victory.
Elsewhere, Charlie Davis enjoyed a dream debut with a dramatic last-minute winner for AFC Totton, as they saw off Evesham United 2-1.
Scott Rendell put the hosts ahead early on at Snows Stadium, but Daniel Griffiths headed home 11 minutes from time as it looked like the visitors might earn a share of the spoils.
However, there was time for a late twist as Davis, who signed for the club earlier in the week from Salisbury, fired through a crowded area to find a winning goal and spark wild celebrations.
Jimmy Ball's Stags sit 11th, with games in hand on every club in the league.
Also in the division, Jack Lovell's strike earned Bashley a 1-0 win over Paulton Rovers, while Lymington Town were edged out 1-0 at Slimbridge.
