ROMEO Lavia says he does not read it but has responded to newspaper reports linking him with transfer interest from the likes of Manchester United.

The 19 year old has impressed scouts of top Premier League clubs during his first season as a senior player after a move from Manchester City.

Lavia has made 20 appearances in all competitions and has proven he could be a snip at £14million, with Arsenal and Chelsea also admiring the youngster.

Reports emerged this week detailing the interest of United and the Gunners, while the Stamford Bridge side wanted to buy him already back in August.

Lavia says he does not take any interest in what is said about him in the media but was asked about the reports when speaking to Sky Sports.

"I don't read it," he responded. "I don't read it, because I just don't think about it. I just enjoy my football and focus on what we have to do as a club.

“Whatever is outside, it is not what I can control, so I don't pay attention to that. Football, with how it goes, it goes so fast,” Lavia added.

“One moment you can be in the headlines and the next, you're not. So the only thing to do is just be neutral, don't think about it and get your head down and work."

Lavia is likely to start for Saints when they welcome Leicester City to St Mary’s on Saturday, March 4, alongside captain James Ward-Prowse.
