SAINTS B have been crowned Premier League 2 Division Two champions and with it have earned promotion to the top division.
The Saints team finished their campaign last week with a 5-2 win at Norwich City but were waiting on Leeds United to play their final fixture.
The Whites needed just a point away from home at West Brom to win the title but fell to a 2-1 defeat, meaning Saints topped the table on goal difference.
Dom Ballard was the side’s top goalscorer in the competition, netting 12 and assisting a further two.
Of 20 fixtures, Saints won 13, drew three and lost just four – they went on a run of four successive victories to end the season and give themselves a title chance.
Saints B missed out on the playoffs last campaign through goal difference but celebrate a greater prize through the same metric this time around.
For many of the Saints B team, who have seen coaching changes throughout the season, it is back-to-back league titles.
They are the youngest under-21s team in the division and the likes of Ballard, Kami Doyle and Lewis Payne have an Under-18 Premier League South medal from last campaign.
