SAINTS boss Ruben Selles has reiterated that he would like to stay at the club for the next ‘ten years’ but admitted that he ‘expected to win more football matches.’
Selles was originally brought into the club last summer to work under Ralph Hasenhuttl before remaining a part of Nathan Jones’s coaching staff.
But when Jones was sacked after just eight Premier League matches and Saints failed to find an agreement with former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch, it was Selles who took charge for February’s trip to Stamford Bridge.

A statement 1-0 victory followed and Selles was rewarded with the job on a full-time basis until the end of the season. From the start Selles made it clear that he was looking to build a much longer legacy than just a few months at the club.
However, after winning two of his first three games, Saints are now winless in their last nine and staring relegation in the face with four matches left to play.
Asked about his future on Friday afternoon, Selles reiterated his desire to stay at the club but admitted that his brief tenure hasn’t gone as planned.
"I am focusing on what is in front of me and on what we have for Monday night,” he said.
“Of course the club are making movements and preparing for different scenarios, but for me, my focus is right now. When the season is over, we will see.
“I always say that I want to be here for the next ten years, that is my ambition. But a lot of things will happen in the coming weeks one way or another and we just need to be respectful with that. It's maximum focus on now and the club has to weigh up the different scenarios."
“It's not important what I think, it's important what they (the board) think," the Saints manager added. "I try my best to be honest in my work and put in a performance every day and try to show what I can do.
“It's not for me though, what I can do is continue showing what I can do. I expected to win more football matches but we didn't. Hopefully we can do so between now and the end of the season."
