SAINTS have confirmed they will not renew the contract of manager Ruben Selles when it expires at the end of the season.
The Spaniard will oversee the team for their final game of the Premier League season on Sunday when they host Liverpool at St Mary’s before leaving the club.
Selles had already confirmed he did not want to remain at Saints unless he is the manager and his initial coaching contract was made void in the process of his appointment.
Former Valencia man Selles succeeded Nathan Jones after the Welshman was sacked in February, winning two and drawing one of his first four Premier League games.

However, the club are winless since and relegation to the Championship - as well as a bottom-placed league finish - has already been confirmed.
The club statement reads: “Southampton Football Club can confirm that it has held conversations with Ruben Selles and decided that his contract will not be renewed when it expires at the end of the season.
“The club wants to place on record its thanks to Rubén for taking on the managerial position at a difficult time for the club and for giving his all as we attempted to stay in the Premier League.
“Rubén will take charge of the team for the final game against Liverpool on Sunday at St Mary’s. We wish him all the best for his future career.”
