SAINTS have learned their schedule for the 2023/24 Championship season and will kick start their campaign with an away trip to Sheffield Wednesday.
Russell Martin’s side will get the Championship term underway in the league opener against the League One play-off winners on Friday, August 4 (8pm) – while Norwich will travel to the South Coast for Saints’ first home game a week later.
Plymouth, QPR, Sunderland and Leicester City make up the remainder of the St Mary's side's first six matches in their return to the Championship.
Saints will play eight games in one month over the festive period – with a trip to the capital to face QPR on Saturday, December 23 their final game before Christmas.
Martin will be reunited with his former club Swansea City in a boxing day clash at St. Mary’s on Tuesday, December 26.

The New Year's set of fixtures will see Saints welcome recently promoted Plymouth Argyle to St Mary’s on Friday, December 29 ahead of travelling to Norwich on the first day of 2024.
Saints will renew rivalries with fellow relegated Premier League side Leeds United in the final game of the season at Elland Road.
Fixture scheduling is subject to change on the basis of games being chosen for TV.
