SAINTS have launched its new 2023-24 season third kit, acknowledging the club’s proximity to the New Forest and celebrating the tree on the crest.
Created in partnership with hummel, which is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this season, each of the kits celebrates a different element of the Southampton FC badge.
The black third shirt features a camouflage-like tree pattern in black, charcoal and grey, matched with hummel’s trademark chevrons in yellow.
On the reverse of the shirt, the tree proudly sits at the nape of the neck. The shirt is complete with grey shorts and black socks, with hummel’s iconic chevrons in yellow on both.
The third goalkeeper’s shirt is electric blue, with the same stained glass window effect design as the home and away shirt. On the reverse of the shirt, the halo sits at the nape of the neck. The kit is complete with electric blue shorts and socks.
Charlie Boss, chief commercial officer for Saints, said: “We’re delighted to launch our third kit of the upcoming season.
“Each of this season’s kits celebrates a different part of the DNA of Saints, so with this shirt, we wanted to pay tribute to our local environment and the outstanding natural beauty on our doorstep.”
The on-the-pitch and replica shirts have been produced using Eco8 material made from fabric created using recycled plastic bottles. Approximately eight recycled bottles go into every shirt and last season’s kit saved 167,664 bottles from landfill.
To launch the kit, a new video campaign is surrounded by projections of the outstanding natural beauty of the New Forest. The still campaign also has a more natural look and feel, giving a nod to the New Forest and Hampshire countryside from a set and styling perspective, with players including Charly Alcaraz, Dom Ballard, Alice Griffiths and Rosie Parnell.
Like with the Saints Women’s home and away shirts, the club will be selling a limited run of replica third shirts specifically for the Women’s team, which will have Starling Bank on the front. These will be available to buy online and in the club shop.
Fans will be able to purchase shirts in-store, online and via the club’s new Click and Collect service with the same-day collection.
The club store will be open from 10AM until 8PM each day between the 24th and 28th July, to accommodate those wanting to pick up the new shirt after work. Adult shirts are priced at £55 while juniors are priced at £44.
