SAINTS legend James Beattie will lead a group of fundraisers for a skydive in aid of the Saints Foundation.

Saints Foundation, the charitable arm of Southampton FC, is appealing to supporters to take part in a charity skydive in aid of their work in the community.

Fundraisers who join the Big Saints Skydive will jump alongside Beattie, who will lead the jump and then welcome fellow parachuters back to Earth after their own tandem skydives.

The event will take place at Old Sarum Airfield near Salisbury on Saturday, September 23.

Beattie enjoyed a prolific career as a professional footballer, notably whilst playing for Saints between 1998 and 2005.

He made more than 200 appearances on the south coast and is one of the club's top goalscorers of all time.

In a fun teaser video, Beattie is seen channelling a different skydiving James as he lands in St Mary’s as “009”.

Since his retirement from playing, Beattie has gone on to work as a coach and assistant manager at several professional clubs including Accrington Stanley, Swansea City and Leeds United.

Those wishing to take part in the Big Saints Skydive must register to do so via the GoSkydive website.

Fundraisers are asked to raise £500 in order to take part, vital funds which will support Saints Foundation's life-changing projects in Southampton.
