GERMAN outfit Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly agreed a deal with Saints to sign winger Nathan Tella.
Tella, 24, helped fire Burnley to Premier League promotion with 17 league goals last campaign – while he has registered a goal and assist in his first three this term.
The Bundesliga side have been pursuing a deal for Tella and had seen earlier bids rejected by the club.
The Athletic now report a deal has been agreed, with Leverkusen reportedly paying the St Mary’s side £20million and including a sell-on clause.
They add that personal terms are in place on a five-year contract with Tella set to travel to Germany for a medical on Saturday.
Burnley, Rennes and West Ham United were said to be also among those who pursued a deal for Tella.
Tella had been open to a return to Turf Moor but Burnely were unwilling to match Southampton’s valuation for the forward.
Tella joined Saints in 2017 after spending most of his youth career at Arsenal, and signed a new contract until 2025 in January 2022.
