MANAGER Russell Martin revealed Jan Bednarek is 'touch and go' ahead of Southampton's Friday night fixture against Leicester City.
The centre-back was subbed off in the 34th minute of Poland's 2-0 defeat against Albania on Sunday.
Bednarek has started every game under Martin in the Championship this season and got off the mark in their 4-4 draw against Norwich City.
Speaking on Thursday ahead of Southampton's clash with the Foxes, Martin said: "Janny B is going to be touch and go.
"It's nothing too serious, but we are hoping he can be involved tomorrow. We have a feeling he can be.
"Hopefully he feels the same way. We will have to play it by ear. We have options there if he isn't ready. Taylor (Harwood-Bellis) is now in the building. He got through 90 minutes for England.
"Ideally, he would have played a few less time minutes, but he is their captain and they want him on the pitch. Whether Jan makes it or not, we will be well prepared."
Previewing the match against the recently relegated Leicester, Martin continued: "The guys that have been here during the international break have had time to refresh.
"They've also worked really hard. It's been a good two weeks for us to put the Sunderland defeat behind us and look forward.
"We are going to have to win whilst building, the first time we didn't do that, we lost in a bad way.
"It's so easy to overreact by chopping and changing, it's given us real clarity and hopefully we will show that tomorrow."
