FANS have voiced their opinions after Saints fell to a third straight Championship defeat against Ipswich Town on Tuesday evening.
Saints had chances to equalise as they controlled possession against the recently promoted side, but Omari Hutchinson's first senior goal proved to be the difference.
Here's how fans reacted to Southampton's third straight defeat in the Championship...
On Facebook, Jeremy Lee commented: "0-1 flattered the Saints as Ipswich who just came up from League One could easily gotten 4 or 5. The disallowed goal was a fortuitous (and) very soft decision.
Andrew Thompson added: "Our midfield is awful and Adams should have scored."
Gary Frankland was in agreement, saying: "Awful performance yet again giving the ball away on the edge of our box has cost us at least a point the line up was completely wrong playing players out of position."
One fan who was more optimistic was Philip Card, who commented: "We have to give Martin a fair crack of the whip. He hasn't been in the job long enough to call for his sacking, he has a relatively new young team in certain positions. Expecting this new dynamic team after a few games I find it totally unreasonable.
Darren Arnold noted: "We all think we should be the manager, but Alcaraz should be starting. Sulemana should (also) be playing up top getting in behind. (He's) too deep when on.
Fans also gave their opinions on Southampton's performance over on X, saying...
If you give up every time you’re in a rough patch, and end up sacking the manager you will go nowhere as a club.

We have built this club around Russell Martin’s system and it’s now all about adjustment
The board will be sticking with RM, and you need to too. #SaintsFC
Couple of takeaways from the last few #SaintsFC matches:

- AA can’t be the first CM on the team sheet.
- Midfield in general worryingly weak against the ball.
- Missing captain in tough moments.
- Lack of meaningful time on training pitch in Sept showing in attacking play. pic.twitter.com/XusIh8EhBm
Was it RM’s fault Che missed another 1v1? No. Was it his fault Charles tried to play out instead of clearing it? No. We can have a go at him for having no plan b and odd team selection but some things he can’t be blamed for. Back him for now #saintsfc

People got to remember we literally finished 20th in the prem like 3 months ago, it’s not gonna change instantly and it’s tough not having the time we want, but Russel Martin is the right man. Silly how people want him out already. Tough league🤷♂️🤷♂️ #SaintsFC 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️

September has been an awful month for us. Makes you wonder if performances were higher during the transfer window. Tella has been a massive loss #SaintsFC
