SOUTHAMPTON boxer Ryan Garner has revealed how it's a dream to fight at St Mary's stadium and he hopes to have a world title bout there one day.
Garner is a big Saints fan and was recently interviewed on the pitch during Southampton's 3-1 win against Leeds United on September 30.
The 25 year old will fight Anthony Cacace at the Manchester Arena on November 18 where he will hope to move himself closer to a world title fight.
Speaking to BBC Radio Solent, Garner said: "Obviously providing for my family first and foremost is important but my aim and my trainer Wayne Matten’s aim is to fight at St Mary’s.
"I was on the pitch the other week, that’s my dream. I was born and bred in Southampton.
"I want to get as many people from Southampton filling that stadium up fighting for a world title and what else could I want?"
The Piranha is currently the WBC International Super-Featherweight champion after defeating Juan Jesus Antunez at York Hall to win the vacant title.
Garner explained how happy he was to appear on the pitch in front of fellow Saints supporters at half-time against Leeds United and hopes it is not the last time that they will see him there.
He added: "I couldn’t have picked a better day - 3-0 up against Leeds United, it was the icing on the cake. I thought I was going to be a bit more nervous walking out than I was.
"The support and reception that I got was phenomenal. I am hoping one day, I could bring all my fans back there for a big fight night."
He also joked that his show would be better than a certain famous music group that will take to the St Mary's stage in 2024.
Garner quipped: "I would say I am a bit more exciting than Take That, so why not?"
