OLDHAM came from behind to draw 1-1 with Eastleigh in the Vanarama National League on Saturday.
The Spitfires took the lead then they were awarded a penalty after Paul McCallum was brought down in the box.
Former Scotland international Chris Maguire stepped up to fire them ahead in the 26th minute - scoring his eighth goal in all competitions this season.
James Norwood looked to draw the hosts level with a headed effort just before the break, but his attempt was tipped over the bar by Joe McDonnell.
Scott Quigley had a chance to double the away side's lead on the hour mark but his close-range header flew just past the post.
Oldham's leveller did come in the 69th minute when Mark Kitching set up Alex Reid, who blasted the ball into the roof of the net from close range.
Kurt Willoughby curled a shot towards the right of the goal in the first minute of added time which narrowly missed the target.
Aidan Barlow was fouled on the edge of the box in the dying moments of the game, handing the Spitfires a chance to regain their lead.
However, Maguire's free-kick effort was blocked by the hosts' defence, as both sides were forced to share the points at Boundary Park.
Eastleigh and Oldham are now tied on 24 points from 19 games, five points outside of the play-off places.
