SAINTS players Ross Stewart, Jack Stephens, Kayla Rendell and Laura Rafferty were on hand to help the Saints Foundation raise over £6,000 at a special quiz night on Wednesday evening.
More than 130 quizzers battled it out at the red and white quiz night on Wednesday night (15 November), facing it off in St Mary’s pitch-side lounge The Halo in support of the club’s charity.
BBC Radio Solent’s Adam Blackmore was on the mic as the night’s host, and he was joined throughout the evening by a number of special Saints guest quizmasters.
From the Men’s team, Stephens and Stewart tested the room on some of their teammates’ favourite entertainment, while Women’s team players Rafferty and Rendell led a round on their fellow Saints’ appearances in tournament football.
Club legend and Saints Foundation ambassador James Beattie took up quizmaster duties for the final round – the ultimate test of Saints knowledge for those hardcore club historians in the audience.
With all proceeds from ticket sales and an on-the-night prize raffle supporting Saints Foundation, the red and white quiz night raised an amazing £6,200 for the charity’s work with those in need in Southampton.
Greg Baker, chief executive officer of Saints Foundation, said: “A huge well done to all our quizzers – everyone rose to the occasion, both with solving some very tricky questions and in generously supporting our fundraising efforts.
“Special thanks go to the quiz night’s headline sponsor, Harvest Fine Foods, who provided hugely generous sponsorship for the evening.”
Saints Foundation is the charity of Southampton Football Club. It supports people in need throughout Southampton, providing life-changing opportunities to help the city and its communities thrive.
