HUDDERSFIELD scored late to inflict a disappointing 1-1 draw on Saints at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.

Jackson's deep cross flew in uncontested with three minutes of regular time left to cancel out Adam Armstrong's first-half strike.

Here’s how we rated every Southampton player’s performance in their draw at Huddersfield...

Gavin Bazunu - 6.

Good when called upon, except for the goal, which wasn't often. Claimed a lot of Huddersfield's crosses to kill pressure before it could mount into a real chance. Shouldn't be getting beaten by a deep cross. Rushed off his line to prevent Sorba Thomas from adding a second.

Kyle Walker-Peters - 6.

Not as impactful as he has been this season. Helped in attack and defence without having a stand-out moment to mention.

Jan Bednarek - 7

Returned to the team after suspension. Made countless important defensive interventions. Combined with Taylor Harwood-Bellis well.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis - 7

Also solid at the back. Dealt with Huddersfield's counters time after time. Blocked a Thomas shot when the hosts were on top. Continues to impress.

James Bree - 6.

Spurned an early chance to cross in the box. Won his battle against Thomas in the first half. Conceded a few counter attacks down his side. Replaced for Ryan Manning.

Flynn Downes - 6.

At the centre of play when Saints were bossing the game. 100 per cent pass accuracy in the first half. Helped out in defence. Went about his job as he always does.

Will Smallbone - 6.

Started despite injury concerns over the international break. Denied a long-range goal by Chris Maxwell. Always in the right spot on the edge of the box. Replaced for Che Adams with Saints desperate for a goal.

Stuart Armstrong - 6.

Hit the woodwork from a distance. Created two chances in the first half - including Adam Armstrong's goal. Had a lot of touches but didn't stand out.

Kamaldeen Sulemana – 6.

Neat flicks to help Saints in the build-up. Booked for a rash challenge early in the second half. Replaced by Sam Edozie soon after.

Ryan Fraser – 6.

Started in place of Charly Alcaraz. Fired over inside the box. Was cut down when he tried to run down the wing on the counter. Not as impactful as he has been off the bench.

Adam Armstrong –

Only had 18 touches in the first half but crucially found the net from close range. Moved around when Saints made changes. Tireless in his defensive running. Didn't do much but the goal in attack.

Substitutes

Sam Edozie – 6.

Lively off the left. Had a low shot pushed away by Maxwell soon after coming on. Unwavering in his attempt to get the ball in the box. Most impact from the bench.

Ross Stewart - 6.

Introduced as a target for Saints to hit while under pressure. Didn't read Manning's cute pass in injury time.

Ryan Manning - 6.

Came on with 10 minutes left. Found Armstrong on the edge with a great pass which bypassed the midfield.

Shea Charles - 6.

Defensive change to add steel to the midfield in the final 10 minutes. Didn't stop the counter which forced Bazunu off his line. Found it hard to settle into a game when Saints were lost.

Che Adams - N/A.

On in place of Smallbone with seven minutes of injury time to play. Didn't have much chance to make an impact.
