EASTLEIGH were knocked out of the FA Trophy after suffering a penalty shoot-out defeat to Aldershot at the Silverlake Stadium.
The Hampshire derby finished 2-2 after regulation time despite the Spitfires taking a two-goal lead, with Aldershot 3-2 winners on spot-kicks.
Eastleigh took the lead when Enzio Boldewijn's cross was put in by Jayden Harris, but they suffered a setback when Ludwig Francillette was sent off at the start of the second half.
Paul McCallum, who was the match-winner in last Sunday's FA Cup win against Reading, made it 2-0 shortly after to give the hosts breathing space.
Aldershot responded, though, as goals from Jack Barham and Haji Mnoga brought the visitors level.
Richard Hill's side were able to hold on until full time with the match needing a penalty shoot-out to decide the tie.
Jordi van Stappershoef saved the crucial penalty from Nigel Atangana to send the Shots through to the next round.
The two sides will meet again next week when Eastleigh travel to Aldershot in the National League.
