EASTLEIGH goalkeeper Tommy Scott was frustrated with the defeat to Aldershot Town in the FA Trophy but acknowledged "it was lovely" to make his debut for the Spitfires.
The goalkeeper joined the club in the Summer and was yet to make an appearance for Richard Hill's side.
He was finally able to get on the pitch at the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday but they were ultimately on the wrong end of an Aldershot fightback, despite going 2-0 up early in the second half.
Speaking to Eastleigh's official club media, he said: "It's difficult to take. Especially after being two goals up. When you try and defend the long ball for the last half hour, it's going to be hard.
"Especially to lose it on penalties like that, it's a difficult one to take."
The former Hamworthy United man did, though, enjoy playing in front of the Eastleigh supporters for the first time.
"It's never nice to lose but to make my first start for the club in front of the home fans, it was lovely.
"The cherry on top would have been a win but I'm delighted. It's lovely to play for this club."
The Spitfires will find out who they will face in the FA Cup fourth round when Barnet host Newport County on Tuesday, December 12.
