SAINTS are one of several clubs interested in Liverpool attacker Fábio Carvalho, according to a recent report.
Liverpool recalled Carvalho from his loan at German outfit RB Leipzig early, having only made 15 appearances in all competitions.
The Reds are reportedly planning to loan the young attacker out once more and would like game-time assurances as part of the former Fulham man's plans.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Southampton are one of several clubs hoping to land the 21 year old.
Carvalho scored 10 goals and provided eight assists during his last Championship campaign, helping Fulham to promotion in 2021-22.
A permanent switch to Liverpool followed, where he played 340 Premier League minutes in his first season for Jurgen Klopp's side - scoring twice.
Reports in Belgium have also linked Southampton with a move for Burnley's Manuel Benson.
The Daily Echo understands that the 26 year old is indeed one of many options that fit his profile that the club are considering.
Benson helped Vincent Kompany's Clarets to promotion last season - scoring 13 and making three assists in 33 appearances.
He has, however, only played 73 minutes across four appearances in the top flight this season.
