SAINTS striker Che Adams has been credited with interest from three Premier League clubs but his situation remains the same.
With six months left on the Scotland international's contract, he will be allowed to leave this month only if a satisfactory transfer offer comes.
Adams has been the subject of transfer speculation for two consecutive seasons with this exacerbated following Southampton's relegation.
The likes of Everton, Wolves, Fulham and Crystal Palace were all credited with interest in the summer and clubs could make a move for the 27 year old.
Adams has scored six goals in 22 Championship appearances following three strikes in his first three games and a further three goals in his last six matches.
The former Birmingham City man has only started 10 league fixtures under manager Russell Martin but injuries have pushed him up the pecking order.
Adams is likely to start against Sheffield Wednesday with Martin conceding he should not have benched the forward in the 1-1 draw at Norwich City.
Saints are not under pressure to sell but current FFP restrictions mean cash for a player set to depart in the summer could be too much to turn down.
Adams was offered a new contract in the summer but has so far refused to sign the deal, preferring to keep his options open.
Martin was asked about the likelihood of Adams remaining a Saints player this season and admitted he is planning to keep the Scot.
Martin said: "I’ve got one view of it and the ownership will have a different view if an offer comes in that is too good for them to refuse.
“I can’t give a definitive answer, but we are prepared for whatever comes if he is here at the end of the window. If he isn’t, I’m sure we will have replaced him."
