SAINTS have recalled defender Nico Lawrence from his loan spell at League Two Colchester United.

The 21 year old returns to the club after completing his recovery from a long-term injury sustained back in August 2023.

Lawrence made five total appearances for the U's, making an impressive start to life on loan before suffering the injury setback that kept him sidelined for 21 weeks.

He returned to action earlier this week for Colchester's Under-21s and will now return to Staplewood to continue his return to full fitness at Saints. 

The former Glebe FC man was Torquay United's young player of the season last campaign, despite the Seagulls suffering relegation.

Lawrence could be given some first team coaching - while the deadline for another Football League loan is next Thursday.
