SAINTS youth product Kami Doyle said "Southampton will always hold a place in my heart" following his move to Brighton.
Saints will receive a transfer fee and sell-on percentage clause for Doyle, who only had six months left on his contract.
The England youth international has already made his Premier League debut, and has been a key figure in Southampton's youth teams.
He scored three goals and provided two assists in four PL2 games before getting injured.
The 18 year old will initially link up with Brighton's Under-21s.
Writing on Instagram, Doyle said: "I would like to thank everyone at Southampton, including all my teammates, coaches, staff and fans.
"The club has helped me to grow as a player and person and I will forever be grateful.
"I have been at the club since the age of seven, it’s been an amazing 11 years that has brought me a lot of joy.
"I was always proud to wear the shirt. It’s now time for a new chapter and one that I am excited for.
"Southampton will always hold a place in my heart."
