MANAGER Russell Martin admitted a potential FA Cup fifth round tie against Liverpool is a big "incentive" for Saints.

Southampton will first have to beat fellow Championship side Watford in a replay at St Mary's to book their trip to Anfield.

Stuart Armstrong scored late at Vicarage Road to draw Saints level after Matheus Martins put the hosts ahead early in the first half.

Substitute Sam Amo-Ameyaw curled a shot just over the crossbar as Martin's side went in search of a late winner to ensure they progressed.

Speaking to the Daily Echo Martin said: "It is a huge incentive to go and play Liverpool at Anfield.

"It is a brilliant opportunity to go up against Jurgen Klopp in his last season as their manager.

"It is a big opportunity for anyone. It's another game and we have some players coming back from injury who will hopefully be ready for the replay.

"We have to try and win it to take the opportunity. It will also be another chance for players to get some minutes.

"Charly Alcaraz got 90 minutes against Watford. Shea Charles and Joe Rothwell got a really good 60 minutes.

"Tyler Dibling made his first start for us and he will learn from that. Jayden Meghoma was great again. Sam Amo-Ameyaw comes on the pitch.

"I would have loved to win but I am really proud of the players for what they have shown."

Southampton will face Watford in a fourth round replay during the week commencing Monday, February 5.

Liverpool beat Norwich City 5-2 at Anfield to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
