SAINTS legend Kelvin Davis is set to be named new Eastleigh manager, the Daily Echo understands.
The 47 year old is in line to replace Richard Hill, who departed the Spitfires by mutual consent on Saturday.
Eastleigh are 15th in the National League and without a win in 11 in all competitions following a 3-0 defeat at Ebbsfleet United.
Davis has been searching for work since he was sacked as an assistant at Saints, a post he held for four and a half years, in summer 2022.
The former Saints captain, who still lives locally, is a UEFA Pro Licence holder, having been issued the highest coaching award in January 2022.
Retired goalkeeper Davis made 299 appearances for the St Mary's side, helping win promotion back from League One to the Premier League.
Davis will be joined by former Saints defender Danny Butterfield who will take the role of assistant manager at the club.
Butterfield achieved promotion from League Two with MK Dons as a first-team coach before being appointed as assistant manager of Macclesfield Town in 2020.
In 2022, Butterfield left Saints and joined Lincoln City as assistant head coach. Jason Bristow and Vince Bartram will remain as part of the backroom staff.
