GOALSCORERS Adam Armstrong and David Brooks have been named in the latest Championship team of the week following Southampton's 4-3 win over Birmingham.

Armstrong levelled the game for Saints after Koji Miyoshi's opening goal having been played through by Wales international Brooks.

That goal was his eighth career strike against the Blues and has taken his tally for this campaign up to 17, two goals behind the current top goalscorer Sammie Szmodics.

The 27 year old was denied a second just before half time when his bending effort stuck the corner of the goal, right where the crossbar and post meet.

Brooks joins Armstrong in the team of the week having scored Southampton's second to once again draw Russell Martin's side level after Jay Stansfield's goal before half time.

The Cherries loanee curled in from the edge of the box to score his second goal since joining on loan five minutes before Che Adams put Saints in front for the first time.

The Curaçao international set up Miyoshi's opener before pouncing on the rebound after Stansfield's initial effort struck the post.
