SAINTS paid over £7.5million in agent fees between February 2023 and February 2024, it has been revealed in a new FA report.
The figure is the third-most amongst the current Championship clubs, and greater than each of the three promoted sides.
Leeds United’s £13.3million spent on agents and Leicester City’s £8.1million intermediary outlay eclipses Saints.
The figure takes into account fees paid after February 1 2023 but could include payments made in relation to deals that had been agreed prior to the date.
Southampton’s £7.5million includes deals from the last summer and January transfer window, new contracts or scholarships and could include fees agreed from previous windows in the Premier League.
Championship clubs paid over £61million during the allotted period, while Premier League clubs spent just under £410million on agents in the year.
The next highest Championship spenders on agent fees were Watford, who parted with just under £4.7million.
Chelsea were the biggest spenders in the top-flight, with agents pocketing over £75million from their deals alone.
