SAINTS goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu has spoken out for the first time since suffering a ruptured Achilles injury last week.
The 22 year old has chosen to send the club's supporters a message just days after being ruled out of action for up to 10 months.
Bazunu, who has already earned 22 caps for Republic of Ireland, was injured in the warm-up of last Tuesday's 3-0 win over Preston.
He had played every minute in the Championship this season before his injury.
Speaking in a new video on the club's social media channels, Bazunu said: "Hi, Saints fans.
I’ve said more times than I can count about Gavin Bazunu’s mentality and confidence from speaking with him over the last two seasons and it’s no joke.#SaintsFC https://t.co/MeP0g2jfEJ

"This is just a quick message to speak about my abrupt and premature end to the season.
"It's obviously a massive disappointment to myself, my family and those people around me.
"I think the focus has to change now on me getting back to fitness. It's a long road to recovery.
"I just have to be positive and look towards that, and all I can do now is to support the players, staff and fans.
"I am looking forward to a really exciting and strong end to the season. Thank you for all the messages of support.
"I am going to be supporting the team throughout the whole end of the season and I hope it goes well. Come on you Saints."
