THE summer transfer window has now been confirmed as opening on Friday, June 14, following the conclusion of this season.
The trading window will run until deadline day exactly 11 weeks later on Friday, August 30, when it shuts at 11pm.
When it comes to the summer business for Saints, much will depend on the result of their Championship playoff final this week.
If the St Mary's side beat Leeds United, they will be preparing for the Premier League. Here are the latest rumours ahead of the match...
Saints named as keen on Barnsley midfielder
Saints have been named alongside Watford and West Brom as interested in Barnsley midfielder Callum Styles ahead of the window.
Former Burnley and Bury midfielder Styles, 24, has spent the second half of the season on loan at Sunderland making regular starts.
There is an option for the Black Cats, who have used Styles on the left, to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Styles - who was born in England but has 20 caps for Hungary - has scored 15 goals and provided 14 assists in 234 senior appearances.
Adams heading for the exit door?
As has been widely reported and expected for much of the season, new reports have surfaced regarding the future of Che Adams.
End-of-contract talks with Premier League outfit Wolves have been stood up by journalists close to the club in the Midlands.
They detail that it is now likely Adams will move to the Molineux, where club staff have been keenly watching the Scotland international.
Saints manager Russell Martin has been tight-lipped on the future of the 27 year old and is unlikely to address it until after the playoff final.
A potential move for young French attacking midfielder
According to French publication L'Equipe, Saints are interested in youth international Nantes winger Stredair Appuah.
The 19 year old is said to be attracting interest after he impressed as Nantes reached the semi-final of the UEFA Youth League this season.
Appuah, under contract until 2026, made four substitute appearances in Ligue 1 and helped Nantes B to a second-place fifth-division finish.
The report details that Ligue 2 side Clermont recently enquired about the conditions of a potential move.
Perhaps unrelated, but Saints owners Sport Republic also own Valenciennes, who were this season delegated to the third tier in France.
Will Saints Czech out the centre-back market this summer?
Southampton have been named by local media as interested in Sparta Prague defender Martin Vitik ahead of the summer.
The 21 year old was key as his side won the first division while he also played almost every minute of their run to the Europa League last 16.
Vitik stands at six-foot three-inches tall and has already made 148 senior career appearances, in addition to 18 caps for Czechia under-21s.
Leeds are also named as interested while Sparta want a fee of £8.5million (10million Euros), while no official offer is on the table yet.
Lyanco does not want to stay in Qatar
Saints defender Lyanco has spent the season on loan at Al-Gharafa and has become a fan favourite with the Qatari side.
The 27 year old made 13 appearances in an injury-hit season, as his new side finished third in the country's top flight.
Local media in Qatar claim Lyanco wants to return to Europe to stage a push to represent the Brazilian national team.
In a recent statement on his future, Lyanco said: "It was a pleasure living with you and fighting for you. Now I leave the future in God's hands!"
