SOUTHAMPTON are in talks to re-sign Adam Lallana on a free transfer, following the club's promotion.
The 36 year old academy graduate is set to depart Premier League Brighton when his contract expires this summer.
Lallana had said he would take time to reflect on this season before making his decision. The Daily Echo understands a deal might end up struck.
The midfielder was in attendance at Wembley Stadium as Southampton sealed their promotion back to the Premier League with a 1-0 win over Leeds.
Lallana made 265 appearances for Southampton, going from League One to the Premier League, before departing for Liverpool.
Lallana's departure was met with frustration but the player wishes his relationship with the fans ended on better terms.
He made 25 appearances for Brighton in the Premier League this season and captained the side for his final game at the Amex.
Lallana had been involved with coaching England's under-21s last year, working alongside Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
