SAINTS players have taken to social media over the past few days to celebrate the club's return to the Premier League.

A 1-0 win against Daniel Farke's Leeds United saw them lift the Championship playoff trophy, ensuring their swift return to the top flight.

Here is how the squad have reacted on social media to Sunday's win at Wembley Stadium...

Usual first-choice goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, who missed the final stretch of the season after rupturing his Achilles tendon said: "The Saints are going up!!!"

Centre-back Jan Bednarek, who played a key role at Wemhley, wrote: "The Saints are back!"

Taylor Harwood-Bellis said: "WE ARE GOING UP! Can’t wait to see you next season Saints. What a group of people."

The defender is now set to join on a permanent basis after promotion triggered Southampton's obligation to buy clause.

Full-back Kyle Walker-Peters wrote: "Back where we belong!"

Nigerian international Joe Aribo said: "Back like we never left!"

Summer signing Shea Charles, who ended his first full senior season with promotion to the Premier League, said: "What a club!!"

Academy graduate Will Smallbone, who set up the winning goal, wrote: "THE SAINTS ARE GOING UP."

Loanee Flynn Downes posted: "Back where this club belongs. What a pleasure Saints."

Fellow loanee Ryan Fraser wrote a lengthy message, in which he said: "I can’t thank you all enough for the support and for making this year one of the best of my life!"

Sam Edozie, who came on as a first-half substitute, said: "A day I’ll never forget !! We are Premier League.
